You guys may have already seen this, but I just tried this caulk gun out while doing some home maintenance. With regular caulk it is absolutely dripless! It has a mechanism that backs the rod up a bit when you let go of the trigger. Works really well. I haven't tried it with PL yet but I'm sure it would be better than the old style for "oozing".
It also has a snipper for the spout and a little rod to poke the membrane. All for < 5 bucks!

I've got that one. Never knew it was supposed to be dripless based on all the roof repairs I've used it for.

Re: Drip less caulk gun
It may have worked for caulk, but my experience with PL is very different. I always release the plunger pressure after laying a bead and a minute later there's an inch hanging out of the nozzle. Maybe I'm missing something. It's a minor pain, but still annoying.

Are you sure it's the same one? Reason I ask is I had a buddy of mine tell me he had what he thought was the same gun with the spout cutter and seal punch, but it turned out his did not have the no drip feature.coolhandjjl wrote:I've got that one. Re: Drip less caulk gun
The non-drip feature may work ok for some sealants, as you found out for std caulking
For expanding polyurethane it won't.
To force PL to stop oozing, it would have to grab hold of the PL tube's 'plunger plug', and pull that ever so slowly backwards, with th danger of introducing oxygen and moisture back into the tube and thus setting the first 1/2" or so into a solid mass and probably splitting the tube
.
Be thankful PL oozes because that's exactly what it is designed to do.
Advertising a $2.97 cailk gun as dripless, ain't going to be much of a miracle machine for PL I'm afraid. It might help them sell against the $2.65 gun....perhaps.

There is an old saying. You get what you pay for. I use a caulking gun for a living and that my friend is not a pro gun.oneplaybass wrote:http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1vZ1 ... ogId=10053
