
We were asked to provide the music for a 60th birthday at the local village hall.
I've played there a few times with other bands and it's a nice place to play. There's a decent stage, good acoustics and it was comfortably filled with about 120 guests.
The Jacks sounded good at sound check - We don't have anyone to run the sound for us so I stood out front with a long lead and the other guys were good enough to trust my ears.
On stage, my bass sounded great to me and all the feedback we got about our sound was very positive.
This was the first gig for a new band. We hadn't used the PA before and the guitarist only picked up his Fender amp 2 weeks ago. With one week to go my Ashdown bass amp started overheating and cutting out so I ended up grabbing a used poweramp off ebay and using the ashdown just as a pre-amp.
