Anyone try these? How strong are they, do they bend and distort, or even rattle? I'd like to use these for a couple of my builds to give them a modernized look, plus cutting round holes with my router then rounding the edges in would be very simple, quick, and sweet looking, I think.
If you tighten the screws, I don't see anything that could possibly rattle. These have been used by some people on O10.5's , quite succesfully if I recall correctly. I think they are fine for that kind of weight, e.g. the smaller tops and wedgehorns. Most probably not strong enough for lifting full size subs like T48/T30/T36/T60 or big cabs like DR280/300 and Omni15. I'd want steel handles on those.
Know of any round handles that are metal? I'm going to order one of these plastic handles and see how it feels. I was thining of using them in my WH's and possibly some Tubas, but I guess we'll see.

The picture above definitely looks like something that would break easily.

You could be right, but I'm not going to base that on a 2D image. I'm going to order one and check it out, I need another flatpanel mount anyway.
I like the look better than the round pocket, but that's a matter of personal preference. The handle will support 100 lbs. if mounted correctly. I use a #8 flathead machine screw with a T-nut on the inside. The pocket can be mounted in a square hole. I cut them by plunging a circular saw and then finishing off the corners with a saber saw.
But not 18yr old boys yanking a t24 out of a truck or off the floor after a show. That's the handle I had break so many times. If you're nice to it, it is a good handle.
I'm trying to avoid traditional square handles, I may even route out 2 half moons mirrored on top of each other and put a dish behind it to give me a grab handle right in the plywood.
I'm all about metal, but if those round plastic handles can be installed in a way that holds up, it'll be a great look.
