Burning in Sub

Or, remove the speaker itself and it's speaker wires, and plug those speaker wire to the burn-in sub driver. Add extra wiring if need be.

What do I set my volt meter to to see how many volts I am running through the speaker? I am just running a 30-39hz test tone through it with it set at a relatively low volume on my new amp. The cone is moving in and out a fair distance but nothing to far IMO. Is it really important to run 10 volts through it? I am running an MCM 8".

I did 25hz at 8volts. You might want to lower the frequency to make the cone mover more without any of the added noise from the cone.

And if you can get to the speaker connection on your current sub, just disconnect them and run those to the mcm. that is unless you have no other amp.

I remember reading that 8 hours will get you most of the way there, but 24hours will take care of that little bit and make sure you burn it in all the way. So if you can do 24 hours, then do, if you can only do 8, then do, and then just use it and with constant use it will loosen up all the way.
