I am currently pushing 2 T30 subs(4012HO) with an 1850HD and it does fine
One on each channel
Bill commented at one point that I could do 3 on each channel
My initials are in the view finder of every camcorder (REC)
2xOT12(Deltalite 2512 loaded, w/melded arrays)
2xOT12(Deltalite 2512 loaded, w/flat array) "In Process"
4xT30(24", 4012HO loaded)
1xAT

It would be best, considering your tropical locale, to use a second amp. A nominal 2 Ohm load on the amp will generate a lot of heat.

..and draw a lot of power.

Do you normally work with 30amp outlets, have any way to tap into them?

I've seen chatter that there is an audible difference between switching power supplies (PLX) and transformer based (RMX) amps. The rationale is the switching supply reservoir can be more easily drawn down by heavy demand.

I have owned both, but not done a blind A/B audition.
My back votes for the PLX.

The 1850HD has the big cooling from the 2450.
I asked QSC about this very question, and that was the reply.

The 1850HD is the most tolerant of 2 ohm loads.
It is capable of 53v output. Understand this, if you plan on series-parallel wiring.
