So do you think it would be irrational to put a 48db slope low pass at 25hz and high pass it at 80hz?

for the Titan 48? Absolutely irrational.
Lopass wherever you like. its a matter of opinion. The hipass is absolutely critical for driver protection. although the sub can produce plenty below 45 hz, its a matter of reaching the mechanical limits of the driver (destroying it).

the impedence chart on that page (bottom) shows a huge spike at 32 ohms. Is this correlated with a frequency that is detrimental to the driver at full power?

This is where the the tuning of the cab unloads the driver, and after that, linear cone movement rises exponentially. Just look at some of the eminence spec sheets that show the impedance/sensitivity/cone movement.sine143 wrote:for the Titan 48? Absolutely irrational.
