Plug mixer into processor into amp, clamp voltmeter onto amp output, no speakers. Play 60Hz.

Play with gains thru system so you have control with the output faders of your mixer and you get to the specced output voltage with the amp cranked and the limiter engaging.

I've had a couple of cheap ones which have both suffered premature deaths. The last one I got, I decided to bite the bullet and get a nicer one that does true RMS. This is what I got: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_03482003000P . I know you wanted cheap, but I'm just telling you what I got. They've got another one on their site that says it's true RMS that's about $20 cheaper. I'm not an electrician by any means, so I can really tell you where you could cut corners to go cheaper. Someone else will have to chime in for that...

I swear you're winding me up now.

Length of time you want it to play. 30 Mins??

Amplitude forms part of the "gain structure", not so loud to clip the computer soundcard, loud enough to give the mixer a working signal will be fine.

Freq, refer opening statement.

Like I said, banana clips on terminals, open up the amp innards if you have to. Whatever you do don't short the clips together or your amp will fry. @ 40 odd V you want to be careful they don't arc across to one another also.

Regarding Audacity:

Frequency:Self-explanatory
Amplitude:1
Length: 5 seconds, 3 weeks, whatever you want.

Now either play it off a laptop or save it as a .WAV and burn it to a CD, do an export to MP3 and play it off your iPod, whatever works for you. If you need help burning a CD Google it. Hell, Google everything first. You're asking questions that you can get answers to yourself with a minimum of effort.

Good luck. If you need help with Google, click on this link and look around the results:

@ hollywd901, in order to keep things simple, and to reduce redundancy, would you keep the questions in their appropriate topic, please? I'm asking because you have asked the same questions, over and over again, under several different topics. The forum list is very willing to help, but everyone gets exasperated when the same question (by the same poster) is placed in numerous places in the forum. I'm not being nasty...just trying to help.

One note on topic, i get more accurate measurement with analog multimeter then digital with different frequencies.
Omnitop 12 (Kappa12 - melded piezo) - 2
Titan39 (B&C 12BG100) - 1
