Omni 10.5 for small gigs - unqualified success!

#1 Post by kesslari »

I know that the O10's are "very old news" around here, but I wanted to share anyway.
This week I had a couple of back to back gigs - first on KKUP radio, and the following evening at Mission City Coffee Roasting (both in San Jose). The O10.5 was an absolute delight, paired with a Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0, it was the lightest and easiest 1 trip bass-amp-cab carry ever, and the sound in both instances was stellar. Great comments from the radio folks and the Mission City soundguy, and of course from the audience. Very clear and articulate, which is what I go for, especially playing fretless on these gigs.

Kudos to Bill, once again, for great designs.

Excellent, thanks for the review.

Any pics? And what woofer/tweeter combination did you choose? Any high/pass low pass filter components?

The only pic I have is of the "Omni 310 stack" - my Omni 10 and my 10.5.
I used Deltalites and the recommended tweeters (from Leland). No filter components, per the original plans.

I went with 4 tweeters in each. If I stack them, I just use the 4 on the 10.5, with the 10.5 by itself I switch to 2 tweets, and with the just O10, I use the 4 on that box.
