Colored Duratex?

#1 Post by JoeVictim »

Has anyone here ordered a special duratex color? I wanted to build my O15 in the same vein as orange cabs or in the same vein as electric cabs.

Has anyone had experience with this and what kind of results did you have? If it looks pretty good, I'll call them for pricing.

Thanks fellow BFM builders.

AcryTech (http://www.acrytech.com/store.asp?pid=14119&catid=19771) is the maker, and they will make any color your heart desires. If you look on their site, they show a pic of builder "Art Coates" who used a custom color called oxblood on an Omni 10, the predecessor to the Jack 10.

Thanks Mr. DJ.
I didn't find any photos other than the sample textures. But if you think it looks good, then I'll call 'em up for pricing.

They'll ask you for color chip numbers so they can make it to whatever color you want.

I plan on doing an O15 fatboy with colored duratex exterior and a black grill cloth now the for the front of the cab (what I am going to call the baffle in this instance), should I do paint that black? I think it might look better than having the baffle orange/green also.

Those that have colored vinyl cabs, what color is your baffle board?

I just looked at Avatar speakers. I was looking at them before deciding to build BFM, and on their cabs the baffle board is black even with colored cabs.

Since none of the BFM designs have a "baffle" I was just thinking to leave a lip maybe a half inch or so, paint everything the grill would cover black and paint the rest my custom color.
