bolting down drivers
I tried a new way of bolting down drivers this build (two t48). I drilled my baffle plate 7/32(1/32" clearance over the 10-24), then used 2" long 10-24 stove bolts with flat washers under the head, all the way through. I coated the length that goes through the baffle with epoxy, and all under the head and flat washer. I put flat washers and nuts on the other side to hold them tight up against the baffle plate while the epoxy set up, then took the nuts and washers off leaving basically studs sticking up. All was well until I tried to install the 3015. The magnet hit the back panel of the cavity before the flange cleared the studs. I got out my trusty 4.5" disc sander and sanded a shallow notch in that panel, and the 3015 just cleared the studs. bolted it down with self locking nuts, the ones with the nylon inserts, and had about 1/8" of stud left above the nuts, just the right length. I eliminated any possibility of leakage around the fasteners and the baffle plate.
