Australian version of PL pro is?

Helpful hints on how to build 'em, and where to get the stuff you need.

I used the Selley's "ultimate strength/platinum edition" glue. It's polyurethane, and seems to correspond to the PL pro otherwise - I got it from Bunnings, it's the most expensive of the Selley's glues.

Holding together well so far. I made one mistake quite early on, and the glue was stronger than the stuff holding the ply together, basically the ply fell apart and left the joint intact.

Wouldn't use any other Selley's glue.

Label says it foams with curing, not knowing anything more about glues I'd like... :feedback:

I would not use that other than for gluing in the back of tee nuts.

It runs like honey and you need your joints perfectly level otherwise the glue runs away before it cures.

Use the 100% polyurethane construction glue that comes in tubes. Sika make one called Sika Super Grip 2 Hour Poly construction glue.

I don't share Horst's faith in any selleys product based on experience over the years, but he may have found different.

You can't conclude that because acrilic gap filler from company A was bad that all products from company A are bad, it is a particularly bad example because successsfully filling cracks is an art that will elude pretty much any handyman with a silicone gun and pretty much any gap filler/silicone.

I don't have a paticular love for selleys because they have a premium on their products soley because of the large amount of advertising they do not because they have better products, but for the moment the selleys platinum is the one that is readily available in most hardware stores, Sika isn't, the platinum works very well, in fact so well that getting yourself in a tizz over how there might be some elusive much better product would be positively wisoundesque
