Is There a Decent 1RU 2-Channel 31-Band EQ?

#1 Post by David Carter »

Anybody know of one? More out of curiosity right now than actually looking to buy, but if there is such a thing, I'd like to know for the future...

I've had a 2x31 single space Alesis for quite a while, I'm sure there are many others.

I have 2 of those Alesis units Bill speaks of. If you want one PM me. I dont use them at all anymore. They're not the greatest but they do work. The tiny sliders are a bit of a task so I use a Jewelers Screwdriver to adjust them. 1/4 inch and RCA ins and outs.

Try a DEQ2496. Best 1U 31-band I've used.

While the Alesis 230 worked fine, as far as I could tell audibly, the faders are indeed a PITA. Ron's suggestion is probably better than trying to fiddle with the thing with your fingers.

The only other 1U units from reputable companies that I found were dual 15-band EQs.

There's this: Alto DIGAN 2.30. Don't know a lot about it. Has a couple of nice features. I have an Alto 4 channel gate that has been a good piece.

I've been using the Alesis MEQ230 for over a decade and it takes a little getting used to, but I love it.

Apparently they have a DEQ230 - which is a digital version of the same thing, but from what I've heard it's a PITA to set the levels on. I'm one of those guys who prefers to be able to goose a section of sliders all at once instead of having to adjust each band individually.

the MEQ230 is going for around $75 on ebay.

I'm selling a MEQ230 over in the for sale section. $40 + ship and it needs an $8 power supply from RadioShack.
