most of the time I run 4 monitor mixes, non powered wedges, so I have to run a speaker cable from each wedge to the amp rack. This entails 4 cables ranging from 30' to 70'. It makes a mess wherever the extra cable winds up, then it all has to be rolled up at the end of the night. I made this adapter so that I could run one NL8 cable to the amp rack, then have 4 short cables running from this adapter to the monitors. Of course, I'm only using two of the contacts in each of the NL4's. I'll have a corresponding NL8 panelmount in the amp rack.

Oh sweet! Awesome idea. On larger stages I've had issues with monitor feeds since I have more short monitor cables than long cables. Being able to tap 4 monitor send off the middle of the stage would be awesome. 1 50ft 8x12ga feeder to go amps to the stage and I'd not have to worry anymore. This is going on the short list.
