SLA Pro Airtightness

#1 Post by lowbob » Sun Jun 09, 2019 3:47 pm

I'm building a pair of 2X6 SLA pro's and am in the wiring stage. The instructions say "Slide the first Speakon into it's hole, seal it airtight with hot melt glue." In my ignorance, I purchased Neutrik NL4MP-ST, which are not airtight. I probably should have gotten NL4MPR instead. Any thought whether I should get the NL4MPR's or live with the NL4MP-ST's? Since it is a ported design, I thought the leaky connectors would be less of an issue.

Thanks,

Rob
No matter how many times I cut it, it's still too short.

The only thing you might notice is some slight whistling of air through the connector. It won't affect anything else. Contrary to intuition a ported cab doesn't have less internal air pressure than sealed, it has more.
