ok, fair enough. can you answer whether they were something you worked out theoretically/mathematically, or by trial and error? (or some combo of both)?

cheers

Re: folding a horn

I've seen that article, and a whole bunch of others. all of them were more or less "well, here's how I do it and it works for me" - which is fine, but having now sat down and messed around with both bits of cut out paper, and drawings in CAD, a lot of these methods yield quite different re...

folding a horn

wondering about the correct way to fold a horn. my thought would be to take a line down the middle of the horn, pick the point to fold, then pivot around that point, like this: http://users.on.net/~flippy/T48/hornfolding.jpg This would seem to me to be the best way to preserve the length, but ive se...

Re: that old awesome flat-pack DR200 thread

If people want me to, I can post the construction and finished photos of the lasercut dr200 to the build forum. To date only the one 'proof of concept' Dr200 was built, but the project is still alive, just waiting for me to have the time to redraw the model in Solidworks. the build photos from the t...

Re: T48 impressions

Those cabs look like mahogany. What ply is that? Lauan, or a close relative. they are an unspecified exterior hardwood "PLYWOOD HARDWOOD EXTERIOR - BC - S2S - IMPORTED - A BOND" Could be Lauan. The unspecified nature of it makes me a bit uneasy (I really dont want to be using rainforest t...

Go for it! if people like, I'm happy to post PDF's of the templates I used. I can redraw them slightly for 1/2" ply to perfectly match the plans. (mine are slightly different, being cut for a version modified to use 12mm ply)

Re: T48 impressions

Nice Solidworks model! Did you cnc-route the parts? no, not for the T48. its too simple a design to be worth the effort - the way i built these was to make the width of the cabs = depth - (2*12mm), so that all the panels (except the bracing) are exactly the same width. When I picked up the plywood,...

Re: T48 impressions

Nice! Great color, that curved bracing looks wicked on the t48, we did something similar with a T60 last month. :chainsaw: What is that color? they are painted with multiple coats of a "Pavement Paint" designed to be painted on cement driveways, etc. its a hell of a lot cheaper tha...
