Re: Navigator Jack 10L Build
My vote is to add the highs. If you put the piezos in to start, you can always eq the high end out, but you wont want to as soon as you hear it. I went with a melded array of 6 and it sounds great. Just put mine on the scale for kicks 22.2 pounds yesssss

Re: Jack 110 questions
Seems like a great sounding cab for my 5 string so far. Amazing power at all frequencies. Anyway, looking at an eariler post, I see a question another J10 builder had which is a slight rattle on E string when playing G. (He noted also G# and A) Not an issue with other speakers and amps. The same not...

Re: Jack 110 questions
OK OK Just tried another amp. Shazaam. This Fender combo was built with a tweeter in the cab. Proves the electronics statement for sure. Much quieter. Thanks again for all the answers and patience, and especially for such a great design.

Re: Jack 110 questions
So Bill, if I switch to series wiring and thereby reduce the signal level going into the tweeter array, am I right to figure that I can still bring the level back up by using the amp's eq?

Re: Jack 110 questions
No change with bass and connecting cable removed. Just amp to speaker. It's not horrible, just trying to understand. Maybe I'll try wiring in series like Bill said. OK to reduce the starting level going to the tweeters. 6 Goldwood melded array in series/ parallel. I imagine with the tweeters there, ...

Re: Jack 110 questions
Just to clarify further. The slight hiss is present at all volume settings and with treble off or on. My phone app says it's about at 3.8 K. Maybe that's just a characteristic of the tweeters. Tried different speaker cables too. Amp doesn't make this kind of noise even at full volume. How tricky is ...

Re: Jack 110 questions
Thanks for the note. I just finished 2 crossovers following Bill's plan to the letter. I've only connected to 2 amps so far, and that high sound emerges....so maybe some kind of filter would take that out? Overall, the sound is outstanding and way more than I need. Great to have that low end respons...

Re: Jack 110 questions
Thanks Bill. Back to the plans. Should I disconnect them while I wait for parts?

Re: Jack 110 questions
Yes, this has been a different kind of project, but the plans are really great. Bill's advice to go slow and just do a little at a time is really smart. I don't know about form regarding starting another thread, but I've had great help with my questions here. Must admit it's taken me a while to soak...

Re: Jack 110 questions
Thanks again. I just glued up 4, but no big deal to add 2. Makes sense to have the extra sensitivity, if that is the correct term. Anyway, I think it will look better too.

Re: Jack 110 questions
Thanks for the note. Yes, the thumbscrews are a bit of a time taker. Thought about fold out legs like the old Fender Bassman amps used, but seems like they'd scrape off the duratex quickly. Hmmm, Regarding the melded array, I'm thinking about using 6 tweeters - it's just for bass - no PA. Is that ov...

Re: Jack 110 questions
So now I am officially building my Jack 110 lite. The instructions are really excellent! Having read them over 20 or 30 times, they're even sinking in) The folded horn design is really good looking and I even hesitate to put the horns in front because it is just so nice to look at. Almost seems a sh...

Re: Jack 110 crossover
For electric bass, I'm figuring on 4 tweeters in series parallel.
Is it about right to put in a low pass filter at 2k and a high pass filter also at 2k?
