Hey Bryson!

It's a 30" (29" panels). I'm going to set them into the front of my theater (if I can). They'll be sticking through the front wall, so 2/3 of the units will be outside of the room. The 30" height will allow them to fit into something "counter height".

My observations thus far... (Lessons Learned, maybe?) Please note... if you are not comfortable or familiar with building things, or you are looking for perfection, follow the plans!!! Also, if you did not cut your wood very carefully and absolutely square , the following observations will NOT work ...

OK, so it looks like Unit 1 is built to the point of wiring up the driver and adding the covers...

OMG... I have an idea... I'll take the first THT and cut a hole into my theater seat risers (in the back) and set the THT so the mouth fires right into the hole! I bet it'd resonate the huge cavity under the risers with the LFE!!! The risers are made up of two levels, open to each other, 6" x 7...

Nono... not passing you up. I don't think! I cut the rest of the wood last night at 10 PM... I think I might have pissed off the neighbors. :twisted: I found that cutting everything right to the dimensions listed in the plans (not the cut list) would have been very good. I have yet to find a need to...

Yeah, I figured out a cool way to cut the braces today. All the internal braces seem to be at the same angle, so I set the angle on the miter gauge and then measured out the starting width... voila! Then I found a mistake, because the braces didn't fit in properly when I was installing panel 8! Cool...

Thanks, Bossman! I'm probably going to notch the braces a bit deeper. I'm probably also going to add a brace inside the cavity as well, since my driver ended up in the bottom end of the cavity (due to a whoopsie on my part). Hey... it seems this thread is in the wrong place and I didn't realize it. ...

What driver is that? It doesn't look like the 15" Dayton I'm using. Is it a Lab 12 or something?

Hey Bryson! Thanks! There's my answer... Doesn't matter! The driver fits just fine (with about 2+" to spare). I'll follow your build thread! I did not install the spacer on the driver baffle. I looked at the bracing and installed the driver without the spacer to check and things clear very well...

Heh... I read about it in the forum and told myself that I'd make sure I didn't do it... then I did it myself. I cut out the driver hole in the wrong position... 9 1/2" from the 29" dimension (for 30" THTs) versus from the fixed dimension. Does it matter to the sound if the driver is ...
