From a power transmission standpoint, that makes a lot of sense. running a single 240v phase means big savings in conductor material. Fewer AND smaller wires to run all over the country.

There might be some errors in your thinking about 3 phase. I don't think it's as easy as just a 208v sine wave. The way you get 208v using 120v per phase is by taking the difference between 2 different of the 3 sine waves that are 120v each. In theory, I guess I could change the genny's alternator t...
