Thanks everyone!
Got my amp figured out. OT12s + Tuba 24s sound great in my tiny room. Hopefully better in a large venue with proper positioning. I've read a few posts about OT12s sounding a tad bright. Is there any way to make the mids more prominent?
Thanks again,
NOOB

Re: Crown XTi 2000 not biamping
I'm confused about the input setting and what signal to send to the amp. Do I send a premixed mono signal to the amp and use mono summed (sum ch1 + ch2)? Or do I send a stereo signal and use sum ch1 + ch2? send a stereo signal and use sum ch1 + ch2 I also did what Sine143 said with the volume level...

Re: Crown XTi 2000 not biamping
You can't do that and use the crossover function in SA. One XTI configured as a 2 way crossover is effectively a mono 2 way crossover with ch1 being the lows and ch 2 being the highs. 1 mono(L/R summed) input is what is required. Y the outputs of your Cleanbox together and run 1 cable to the input ...

Re: Crown XTi 2000 not biamping
I guess the easiest way is to use System Architect then. Did you balance your system by ear?sine143 wrote:Use mono summed, not input Y. Then you just set the level where the Otops are balanced (with my system its about -9 to 11) and then your knobs will turn the whole system up, in a balanced fashion.

Re: Crown XTi 2000 not biamping
Dual mono, input y should do it. From my understanding input y does this: INPUT Y (Ch. 1 input signal goes to Ch. 1 and Ch. 2 output. Ch. 2 input signal is ignored.) The signal I'm sending to the amp is Ch1 = L Ch2 = R Wouldn't input Y only send the Left audio signal to both outputs? I'm trying to ...

Re: Crown XTi 2000 not biamping
go into system architect. basically, since you are running mono, the knobs affect both channels at the same time. In order to balance the otops, you need to pull the channel 2 volume slider down to the correct level. What if I changed the input setting to stereo and sent to both ch.1 and ch.2 the s...

Crown XTi 2000 not biamping
I have 2 Tuba 24s daisy chained off ch1 and 2 OT12s chained on ch2. I'm also using the speakon outputs only. (I like making diagrams) Ch1 —> Tubas Ch2—> OT12s When I turn the volume knob all the way down on Ch2 the OT12s are still playing loudly, and get louder when I increase Ch1's volume. I've dou...

Re: XTi System Architect for Tuba 24 & OTop12
You'll really want to measure the output with a tone generator and a multimeter with those BP102s. I had to set the XTi 1000 to -6dB to ensure I wasn't crossing the 35v recommended limit. The XTi 2000 puts out quite a bit more than the 1000... my guess is you'll be setting it to -12dB unless you're...

XTi System Architect for Tuba 24 & OTop12
Hey guys, I just bought a Crown XTi2000 amp to power two Otop12s with Delta Pro 12as in them and two Tuba 24s with BP102s. I want to use one channel to power the tops and the other for the low cabs. I'm not sure where to set crossover frequencies for each channel and I need advice on the other setti...

Re: Need amp suggestions: 2 Tuba 24s; 2 OT12s
I'm still thinking of bi-amping the system. :wall: All BFM systems with subs are "bi-amped". You don't need two amps. You can power it and process it all with a single xti2000. One side high and low pass powering subs and the other side does the tops. Sorry. I guess I meant having two amp...

Re: Need amp suggestions: 2 Tuba 24s; 2 OT12s
I'm still thinking of bi-amping the system. I want to get the xti 1000 for the Tubas and put a high and low pass filter on those because I've heard it really improves their performance. For the OT12s I'm thinking of getting the xls 1000 because it has an integrated crossover. It seems that it can on...

Re: Need amp suggestions: 2 Tuba 24s; 2 OT12s
Yes your system is biamped, as in it needs an electronic crossover and discrete amplification. You can do this all in mono with one XTI, it has dual amp channels and a bunch of electronics built in. Lots of folks run mono anyway as it's so difficult to get realistic stereo coverage outside of your ...

Re: Need amp suggestions: 2 Tuba 24s; 2 OT12s
The XTi does seem like a good deal. I'm definitely going to get one for the Tubas. I've heard a lot about bi-amping and want a separate amp for the OT12s. I can't really afford to buy another XTi for them and I feel like its wattage would be overkill anyway. Any ideas for an amp? I read on the forum...

Need amp suggestions: 2 Tuba 24s; 2 OT12s
I'm not too familiar with the techie stuff when it comes to speakers, so I need some help figuring out which amps will work for my setup. I have two Otop12s with Delta Pro 12as in them and two Tuba 24s with BP102s I use these speakers mainly for dance parties so I don't need amazing fidelity so much...
