Otop12 3012HO for vocals?
Does anyone run OT12s without sub support for small vocal only requriements? I know they are made to pair with subs, but sometimes our gigs need vocal support only. Do i still need to have HPF or can i run without and use my ears to let me know its too much/too loud?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Subwoofer maintenance
Wow, I have not rechecked my subs since I built them about 4 years ago. Added to this week's to do list.

Re: High Pass Filter Test
I did a test like this. Set limiter with 60hz signal to 53V. Then played a 22.5hz signal. voltage was very, very low, but I don't think the limit light was on. (Cant remember as I did this last night). But, then I turned up the gain on the 22.5hz signal and maxed out my board and was able to get to ...

High Pass Filter Test
Does anyone have ideas on how to tell if my HPF is working correctly? I have it set to 45Hz with a LR 48 slope. I have limiter set using a 60Hz signal to 53V. Then when I run a 40Hz signal and play with the mixer settings, I can get to the limited voltage of 53V. I would have thought that this frequ...

dcx2496 shelving filter
I would like to put a -12dB/oct filter at 75hz on my t39 to flatten it out. I thought this would be straight forward on the dcx2496, but it makes me put in a gain to start. I want it to start the slope at 0dB and go down from there. Anyone know how to do this?

Re: EQ T-39
Can I boost 50hz by 5db and 70hz by about 3db and cut 125hz by 5db to get fairly level? I have a hpf set at 45hz, -48db/oct. I am confused as to how eq frequency near the hpf works while still adequately protecting the driver from overexcursion.

EQ T-39
I cant rta my system until the spring. I would like to get a fairly flat starting eq for my system. 2 ot12 3012ho and 1 to 2 t39 3012lf. I have reverse eq'd the ot12s, but am not sure what to do with the subs. I was going to lower the 125hz by about 3db and maybe raise the 50 or 60hz by about 3db to...

REW software
I am wondering if I could use REW software from hometheatershack to eq my bfm system and possibly at a gigs for the room instead of buying a deq2496. I have a dcx2496, graphic eq, spl meter and mixer (with phantom power). I would buy an ecm8000 mic. I am not sure exactly how to set this up to measur...

Re: Leaks from gasket
I put the back on and pulled a screw from the jack plate. Now I understand what to listen for. Thanks.

Leaks from gasket
How common is it to have a leak at the gasket? I have been testing my jacks and they dont appear to have leaks, but I am not sure I know what to listen for. Is there another way to describe the "chuffing" noise so that I know what how to identify it?

limiting question
What are the negatives when consistently hitting the limiter on the dcx2496 both with subs and tops, besides unpleasant sounding? Will it hurt speakers and/or piezos? Is it normal to bounce off the limiter during a show?

EQ off when setting limiters?
I have a baseline EQ set for my ot12s (on my DCX2496) based on the inverse of the published charts. Do I keep this EQ on when setting limits on the tops?
