I should said "it's very difficult to get an accurate cut when plunging with an angled blade." I don't have a set of Omni plans, so I can't answer your question. Is it perhaps because the saw is set at a 90 deg angle to the cut itself? You can do a plunge cut like that. The biggest problem...

So far I haven't made a single mess. The instructions say that mineral spirits will take PL off when it's wet. Before I start gluing, I dampen a rag with it and leave it set. If I get anything on a tool, a quick wipe and it's done. When I'm done gluing, I wipe off the tip of the gun and the 16 penny...

You can't do a plunge cut with an angled blade. You'd have to introduce the material to the blade at the same angle.

For the100% expanding polyurethane glues and there was a recommendation - that for quicker curing and a better joint, you dampened the surfaces to be glued. Yup. Gorilla Glue and the Elmer's poly version both make that recommendation. And it's a good alternative to working in dry conditions in the ...

Wiping the surface with a damp rag will work too. On a plywood edge, a little more than damp is good.

Re: PL in cool temps......

I have to sort of spread it with my finger (gloves of course) to get it out of the worm shape and onto the wood. If it's sticking to the wood in the 'worm shape', leave it, don't spread it out. It will compress and form a perfect seal when you attach the pieces. If it's not sticking, then I'd say s...

Someday, I want a Norm workshop. 24 x 30, big doors, lots of very cool but toally unecessary equipment like a mortis cutter.
Me too, but here in Kaleefornia, 24 x 30 is considered a buildable lot, and out of my price range.

corner trimming jig

I like the black stackable corners, they're cheap and durable, plus they look good. The only problem is I can't find any that are designed for thin wood, 3/4" being the norm. So I designed this little jig that let's me trim them down to the correct size with a router. I use it in a vice, but yo...

Square those saws!

A piece of advice I should pay heed to more often. Whether a circular saw, jigsaw, bandsaw, miter saw, or whatever. Drill presses and router tables need love too! With no projects currently underway, I took the time to sort out the shop and check all my equipment. None were off a great deal, but som...

Sure. Give it a shot and see what happens. Cut a piece of scrap at the same angle as your pieces and then sand it flat. See how much it changes.
