Re: Under Garage Home Theater Build

It's not behind the cabinets that's the problem, it's the entire wall. Time will tell.

Re: Under Garage Home Theater Build

24" centers? Ouch. I'd add a second layer of sheetrock, glued to the first.

Re: Slim THTLP

Most of the warp in that panel should have been pulled/pushed out with the installation of panels 2 and 6. If still warped at the other end a temporary brace the same size as panel 6 could have been screwed to the side and panel 1.

With the solidity of that wall bolt them to it with anchors.

Re: Under Garage Home Theater Build

No, because you can only tune it to one frequency, whereas the cancellation modes in the room take place at different frequencies throughout the room.

It is an experiment. What's critical is that it will have to be very solid or it will vibrate like mad.

Re: Under Garage Home Theater Build

You may not need any direct connection to the airspace, but one can't say without trying it.

Re: What's to chat about?

Google 'pink noise'. It's similar in power density to music, dropping by 3dB with each octave increase in frequency. Each octave contains an equal amount of noise energy. This means that the octave from 100 Hz to 200 Hz contains the same amount of noise energy as the octave from 1 kHz to 2 kHz. The ...

Re: What's to chat about?

If it's passive you can't separately limit the power to the HF driver, so that's the system power. The active shows the actual power for the purposes of limiting.

Re: What's to chat about?

That's showing actual power to the HF driver, which isn't the same as the power to the speaker as a whole, which is how HF drivers are typically rated. On average 75% of broadband signal power is below 500Hz, 95% is below 5kHz.

Re: Corners for Cabinets Made from 1/2" Ply

3/8" radius corners are the standard, so I can't say why you can't find them. If you are forced to use 1/2" radius it won't bother anything, as that leaves a minimum material thickness of 1/2", the same thickness as the panels.

Re: HowieZ DR200 build

You could put sections of plastic pipe through those holes, with PL all around on the inside to secure them, sanded to match the taper of the sheathing.

You could dual load, but it's still not a pro-sound driver built to withstand high level transient peaks.
