Thanks for the input - this leads to the follow - up ?
Is the PA+ worth the $100+ difference ?
Additionally, the PX comes with a RTA mic.
Thanks - R

DBX ???s
I see that DBX has a $100 rebate on the PA & PA+ until the end of the month. With the price from Northern Sound and this rebate this is a pretty sweet deal for a new one. My question is do I really need one???? I have Crown XTI 2000 for T-39s and tops. I will be buying a A&H QU-16 or Behring...

Re: How do I get control (boost) the volume of my mix?
I would say follow the "Gain Train" First, are you maxing out the trim or gain setting on each chanel. Follow the path through. If you are running into a compressor, does it have a input and output matching controls??? If you are only in the green on the LED meter, you probably don't have ...

Re: Live Sound ~ External Pre Amp
I was checking the 16.0.2 out and it has no inserts available ~ dang!!
The 16.4.2 is otta my price range for now. I still may buy the 16.0.2
at $650 from a friend. Hard to pass up at that price.

Re: Live Sound ~ External Pre Amp
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I was hoping to pick up a used Presonus. The Aphex 107 is an ok pre amp.
It is built so solid it can be used for live sound. I have an effects rack that it's in and it usually rides in the
passenger seat.

Live Sound ~ External Pre Amp
I have a Yamaha MG 166cx mixer for live sound. I would like to use an Aphex 107 pre amp for lead voicals. I have used this pre with a Heil pr-22 for recording and liked the diference. What is the best way to try this? My understanding is you can not get around the internal mic pre on the board. I ha...

Re: Microphone.
For pre amps you need to have an idea of the end use.
Example ~ singing / drum overhead / final mixdown
also if you want some coloration (tube) or clear (IC chip)
from the unit. If you are looking for a general all around
use, there are pleanty of $200 - $400 units in stereo.
