You have the option of buying it without the DSP too which could be linked with one that have the DSP and have more channels to run more speaker.
They come in 1600, 3000, 4500,6000 watts!!!

If they ever ship. Peavey has a recent history of long shipping delays and even pulling some products after having them on a "waiting" list for several years.
I REALLY hope these ship though. I've been following them for several months waiting on them to be ready

Re: Are there other suggested amps like the XTI series
The new Peavy IPR amps almost sound too good to be true.
There is a video on sweetwater
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/IPR6000/
They are tossing an amp around like a shoe box
Seems like a no brainer if they are reliable, sound good and that light. Especially at that price point!
I guess time will tell

the only deawback is that they are not readily available but an amp of this weight power ratio starting at just 300 bucks are something that makes one think if they are too good 2 b true i hope they will

Hey Technology is advancing so fast the its hard to believe that an amp could be soooo good n specs but peavey is known to have track record of making brute power amps and really road worthy equipment. A friend of mine still have a pair peaveys OLD!!! CS800 (he still uses) that weigh around 1,000 lbs. each and I remember when started to make them lighter and lighter. When QSC brought out the PLX's 21lbs I said the samething, it doesn't have the big componants inside so it should be whimpy and a unroad worthy amp and I tell you the plx has been running 5years+ now and still ticking. But I have faith it will be a new generation of amps per weight per price. And peavey did the same thing troughout history of selling amps at a good price that held up in time. Well lets see.

Keep in mind, less weight means less components. For instantance, and this is not to talk bad about Crown but I use to have a rack of QSC RMX 1450's and sold them for a rack of XTI1000's. Power rating wise they are the same, but the weight difference in the XTI at 18lbs vs the RMX at 45lbs. Thats why i switched but after doing that I noticed that my subs we not hitting has hard. The XTI's are great amps but I feel because of the weight difference they are lacking the more powerful caps and circuits which in turn gives them less balls in the bass range. So I guess to make a long story short less weight isn't always a great thing.

What subs are you using?

I am using Ramsdell Pro Audio BP21s. Its sort of a reverse loaded ported/bandpass type of enclosure with a P-Audio SD21 21" driver and I have a pair of them.

The QSC RMX series are basically EIA rated @ only .1% THD which is a very low distortion spec and also .1% FTD 20-20K which again is a very low THD spec.
If you notice one thing about the Crown XTIs they rate them EIA "only" and at .5% THD! Now keep in mind I am a die hard Crown user but even Crown needs to sell their medium budget amps and this is one way they "maneuver" around some specs. There is probably a good reason why they dont give 20-20K specs with the XTIs. My guess is to hide the fact that they are so-so performers when compared to other FTC rated amps at the lower frequencies which in part accounts for the lack of hit you experience with your subs. Mostly marketing in that respect.
FWIW QSC PLX Series suffer the same (hit) fate! I would suspect the newer Peavey IPRs to do so as well.
Crown also used to post burst specs and a variety of other output power specs but you dont see that much anymore either. It would reveal a bit more then today manufacturers are willing to divulge when their products sit next to others on the same shelf!
Also Crowns output protection is superior to all others but it comes at a price. That price is current limiting on the output cans and I do believe with the newer Class I power supplies this is even more critical. In a nutshell old iron can be clipped to provide a louder or heavier hit then the
D,H, and newer I class designs. That just makes it dirtier but it probably does sound a tad louder.Peavey experienced this with their DDT compression. If you ran the CS800 just into DDT it really kicked but keep pushing it and it begins to sound lifeless!
At the levels you will begin to hear differences you most likely have a problem hearing the nasties, so I suppose if that's your bag "why not"! I personally dont care for the harmonic distortion in kick in subs but it's often used by many!
My suggestion to anyone replacing older iron units is to move to the next amp up in output when selecting the XTI or even the I-techs (NOT AS MUCH A PROBLEM HOWEVER) if using them on subs! Not much of a concern with mids and highs but subs probably a wiser move if reproducing that harmonic distortion for kick is what you need to do.
I wont go into the subjective musicality of such but I will say this; it is common practice with most pop, rock and country bands for the type or sound/hit desired in today's audiences.
I also believe as technology evolves in the "I" Class power supplies Crown will find a way to add back the "hit". It may take a few years but they are usually moving forth with newer and better patents each year. Crown is a think tank of developers and they hold a ton of audio patents to their credits.

For all of us that have BFM cabs we tend to learn how to do live sound differently. Our speakers are way more efficient than regular speakers out there. We use less power so we don't have to overkill the amps and no 2ohm use. With regular speakers I used to run the hell out of my amps and abusing them to 2ohm so many times but now with my DR's and half the power I have more discipline. My titans sound sweet with half the power too. I think these amps will come along really well with the BFM cabs.
