Newbe starting my DR 250

I have been looking for a new PA setup for our church for indoor and small outdoor use. We have a small Berhinger powered mixer.
I am presently using a pair of old Peavy 12 in speakers with a horn, which are muddy sounding and just don't have the clarity I would like. They just won't cut outdoor performances either. After finding Bill's site and forum, I decided that all you guys are the biggest liars or these are really great speakers.
As I hope you can see I am in the middle of constructing my two DR 250. I have them all secured to the bench so they will end up exactly the same size and shape. I just ordered the #2 drivers and #40 peizos and filters. The construction is difficult but doable. I can hardly wait to get them finished. I am 8 hours of actual work time so far. Does anyone have any experience with the durotech speaker paint covering? Phil

Personally, I'm a liar.

The others are too.

We lie all the time.

I think it has something to do with peer acceptance, not sure.

I'm actually lying right now.

Or...am I?

Looks like you're doing just fine. I'm not lying when I say that my pair of DR250's are great. I'm sure you'll love yours, too.

I lie down at least once a day. More than that if I can get it.

You will be very happy. :D

She may find out that building coffee tables is quite addictive. Next thing you know you will be convincing her that some decent sub coffee tables would go nicely with these :D

OP, those are seriously nice looking DRs.
I have yet to make any for myself (no shop), so I do envy your working environment.

Keep us posted as to progress.
Pix are always appreciated.

I don't get it....bass players start with 4 strings then 5, and now they have 6!

I call it leadguitar envy.
All you guitar people are moths.....your atracted to bright lights, aren't you?

If you play good enough the light will come to you :noob:

pwfirst, very nice looking.....I see you use plenty of clamps, you can never have enough of those.

A couple whose relationship was on the rocks went to a marriage counselor who could not get them to discuss anything. The communication block was so heavy that nothing he suggested could make them open up and talk. Finally after several sessions of non-communication, the counselor stands up, walks to the corner of the room and produces a bass. He brings it to the couple and begins to play fervently. Gradually their barriers break down and they begin to discuss their problems and little things that always bothered them that they never felt encouraged to bring up before. At the end of the session, they were smiling and laughing just like old times. They paid their bill and before leaving, asked the counselor, "What did you do? How did that song help make everything work out?" He answered simply, "Everybody talks during the bass solo."

If an agent and a keyboard player are standing in the road, which one should you run over first?
The agent - business before pleasure!

If Adolf Hitler, Saddam Hussein, and a keyboard player walked into a room, and you only had two bullets, who should you shoot?
The keyboard player...twice.

What did the keyboard player say when the bass player asked him how to spell "Mississippi?"
"The river or the state?"

How do you get a keyboard player away from your front door?
Pay for the pizza.

What do you call a beautiful woman on a keyboard player's arm?
A tattoo.

Noice effort there!

I just noticed you have a novel idea of keeping all those DR's level with the one board.

Did you do that by accident or by design?

The way you've done it means they'll perfectly match each other in height which is just the ticket for fussy eyed people like BGavin, Tim and I and the likes..... 1mm out and it just bugs the crap out of you forever.

Well done
