Re: Finally Pics
they look sensational shawn, and I can imagine that they sound really incredible, have you done some critical listening with non (or at least sparingly) compressed program material?
Re: Finally Pics
I am just a lowly amateur.I've had them a while now.I have listened to every song imaginable through them lol.I've used IPOD,CD,Tape deck,Records, and even 8 track one day.Is that what you mean?Last weekend a buddy(Steve I know your out there) came out with his Paradigm Monitor 9's.He wanted to compare with same amp and goodies. My amp has A/B switch that divides power evenly to 4 channels.SO we set them up about 9 feet apart, sat our butts about 20' back and listened to everything.HE WAS PISSED.He said there something missing in his speakers around the high saxaphone frequency. Now they weren't that far off in comparison at low volumes. We then turned his up to,not woofers but his tweeter sounded like it was going to explode.(1/4 volume on knob)switched to TLAH and kept turning it up with amazing clarity until we couldn't take it anymore. His weighed in at 48 lbs each TLAH's at 54lbs each. Now why he was pissed...Paradigm's cost him $1230 for pair here in the north.TLAH's came to $480 for everything including plans. Now i am not shy,I always welcome listeners for a cold beer and tunes. That's the best way to enjoy the builds.
Re: Finally Pics
no, the last decade or two there has been this idiotic attempt by record producers to make their music appear louder, to give the illusion of better, by compressing the sound so that the difference between the loudest and quietest part of a track are seperated by as little as 10dB or even less, it is very detrimental to the dynamics of the music it makes it sound flat and lifeless, listening to music with a full dynamic range is a good test for speakers, and can be a really satisfying experience.shawn b wrote:I am just a lowly amateur.I've had them a while now.I have listened to every song imaginable through them lol.I've used IPOD,CD,Tape deck,Records, and even 8 track one day.Is that what you mean?

I wouldn't even have known better.I just put in a CD,sit down and listen.I have noticed the volume go up as the nights go on but that I think is the women turning the knob lol.The wife and her friends get going about midnight and they will dance I swear 5' in front of 2-Tuba36's at full volume.I'll have to get a pic of that for ya.I never married her for her brains OUCH!!! I just got smacked.
Re: Finally Pics
That's about 75 watts to each.Damn camera video is terrible sounding though. What do the other guys use to get good sound reproduction?
Re: Finally Pics
