OmniTop 12 ready to go to work

#1 Post by DJDAVE »

95% Done. Still need to do some grill work and put a BFM logo somewhere on them (Hopefully I'm worthy). Each Omni has 1 Deltalite II 2512, 14 melded array piezo's and LP Fillter. I can't wait to take them out this week! They sound great inside, and I can't wait to really open them up!!!

They look neat curved like that, and with the grills. Nice job.

Yeah, I agree. I'm considering that same curved look for DR's and WH's.

Very nice finish.

Chris.

Man, I wish I hadn't started into mine already. Those looks sweet with the curved front. Very Pro.

DJDave your worthy to put the logo on. They really look killer with the curved fronts and the grill. 8)

Yes the curved grill looks nice... for a few cabs that may be ok, but for someone like myself I am more worried about how well they pack. Rectangles pack much easier..... nice work though....

Thanks for the positive feedback.
What's the radius on that curve??
The longest point is 2" beyond the standard length which is a total of 20". If interested, and although there may be a better way to do this, I simply tied a pencil to a string and made a pivot point about 36" back to make the arch.

So, 36" then.

Here's a nice compromise. DR200's, curved grill, straight front.

That's exactly what I had in mind to do for an upcoming OT12. Looks nice.

Yeh, that's the short answer.

I used grill cloth http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl ... er=260-335 sandwiched between 2 pieces of grill fabric http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl ... er=261-800.

Tim A is using something similar (if not the same) to the metal grills that Parts Express carries that are powder coated black http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl ... er=262-878.

By the way Tim, that looks great!!!
