I tried both bi-amp(125 Hz) and with a passive crossover(150Hz).

Is there a big difference in sound quality between passive and active?

Now I'm beginnig to sweat.
If the OT12 soundwise outrun the O10 as a bass cab, would it outrun the O15 as well?
Looking at the charts, the topology of O10 and O15 in the 50-400 Hz range are almost identical.
And this is where they differs from the OT12.

Any comments on this?

Yes.

Stop it.

You're making a mountain out of a molehill.

Go back and read all of my comments. There is no way anyone should come to the conclusion that the OT12 makes a better bass cabinet than the O10, especially with all of the evidence to the contrary. The Omni 10 and 15 are proven bass cabinets.

We were listening to some recorded music, I'd certainly not let that influence my decision for live bass.

Ask yourself this: Does a listening tests performed by two guys using recorded music outweight the proven, real-world use of all the bassists on this forum?

You're sweating for no reason.

This tidbit was probably revealed earlier, but if so I missed it. Comments made regarding the suitability of the different models vis-a-vis electric bass should have had this information prominently displayed IMO.

The fact that we were using recorded music was spelled out in the initial results post.

Ok I'll shut it then

But this calls for a bass shootout comparing O, OT and DR, 4- and 5-string.
That would make me drewl instead of sweating :D

For the last few weeks I runned my amp using the passive crossover.I used the other channel of my amp to drive a wedgehorn 10 ( very good by the way!!!).

The main difference is that my active crossover is a 3rd order(18dB), and that I can dial more precisely the cut off frequency frequency. But I can honestly tell you that you will be very happy with the passive crossover if you only have a mono output. They blend very well together.

I built my DR200 straight firing with 6 piezo and I have to cut down the 10Khz almost completly. I'm wondering if it would be better to have three banks of two instead of two banks of three to decrease sensitivity. But that's personnal choice. I might try a DR250 but I like so much the portability of thi rig compared to my old 8x10 (175lbs  ) . The only other cabinet I'd like to try is the Omni 15 tall boy. Maybe one day.....

Guilty of missing that tidbit, too. If Harley has all of the cabs in question, then hopefully he won't mind clarifying their comparative usefulness for bass guitar.

Again, great job on the shootout guys ... thanks again!
