First things first.

Felt like cutting some wood, so I set out to get started on the right foot in the panel jig section of the plans.
Initially planned to build a push sled for my table saw. Always wanted one and thought it’d be an easy start. Found a couple pieces of ply in the scrap pile that looked like good candidates for a crude biscuit joint to get me there. Acquired one a few years back and haven’t had a chance to use it. More of a novelty idea. Realized with the triangles to glue up a panel cutting table would make sense to set it up and hold everything in place. So, the sled got put on hold to dig through the wood pile for a couple days and throw a rough table together.
Decided to go with a collapsible option and build two 16”x96” boxes then space them 16” apart with stringers.
After confidently marking and cutting all the pieces I quickly found I didn’t account for the width of the frame and my cutouts for the boxes to sit in would now be offset 1-1/2” short on one side and long on the other…
Enter scene, great opportunity for the biscuit joiner…
Just goofing now with biscuits and wood laying around. Decided to cut the stringers even then add what I need to the ends.
Functionally I have a very crude break down 4x8 cutting table top. May put some 1x6s on the bottom of the stringers for support where they are thin at the cutouts and it will also make an area to shoot screws through into my wood saw horses(not shown). Here’s the recap and the aftermath.
