J15L and T60 amps

#1 Post by Benflitv30 »

The Jack 15 Lite with 3015 driver I have is doing great. Currently powered by a higher powered HiFi receiver. The amp module board I had originally was just too weak. Nonetheless I want to add a sub. Currently building the Tuba 60 because of the recorded music style I enjoy. I have the Dayton SPA500DSP amp already on hand for the Tuba, and since the Dayton PAA plate amp has been discontinued, have been looking at the Hypex models that they stock now for the J15L main.

The big question is, which amp would you get? I have been leaning towards the FA252 wired BTL for headroom at 8 ohm load.

I also need to connect these two amps for signal. Do I just use RCA unbalanced or ? Both amps also have their own version of DSP as well (currently have passive crossovers in J15L). I ask because my source signal is a Bluetooth adapter that has 1/8” male jack, but can be adapted of course.

Thank you for the help. I’ve read a good amount, but just want to be sure of things before proceeding and I am a novice at pro audio rigging.
