Hello All
I use a Mackie Dl1608 when I do the occasional gig these day, so many events we do are production provided.
The biggest draw back for me is trying to view the iPad out in direct sunlight. Plus the heat factor has shut my pad down a few times.
Any great ideas for a solution for this. I have tried a homemade sun screen but it leaves a bit to be desired.

Re: iPad controlled mixing in the out door sunlight.
I've experienced the same issue on PC and tablet and have considered one of those little laptop tents in the past for when I'm stationary and out in the sun. Haven't ever pulled the trigger and tested it. For the most part, I've ditched the tablet altogether. The last couple deals I did, I set the system up and did all the major tuning on my PC where I'm able to get a larger view of the workflow and different parameters. After the initial setup, I switch to my phone for actual mixing. For some reason it's easier to see out in sunlight than a tablet, I can just slip it in my pocket and not have to carry anything around, and while the control surface is smaller it seems easier to use finger (thumb) dexterity with my hand anchored on the phone than it is to adjust levels using my index finger while hovering my hand above a tablet. Also, if your sunglasses are polarized, they can make seeing the screens out in the sun nearly impossible.
