Any one have experience with Crown XLS2502? Good, Bad? See one available locally and wondering if I should pursue it.
Thanks.

Been using one for 10 years with no problem. Put one in a local venue for subs probably 5 years ago - gets used 5 days a week. No problems.

Thanks, contacted the seller and tried to set up a time to pickup and pay preference. Conversed as to where we could meet. Then received a "Sorry, sold" message. A little ticked off to say the least.

Bruce, does the XLS processor have what it takes to do the proper limiting or do you still need the DCX/ Driverack?

No, it doesn't. None of the Crowns below the I-Tech stuff can do it. Pretty much the same with any of the amp companies....you have to spend thousands to get one that does that. Cheaper amps and a driverack is the way to go. More versatile and cheaper.

Ok, would have been sweet if it did it all but you get what you pay for. Saving my pennies to get a new XLS2502, Just under a grand in Canada. Would the 1502 be enough for me. DR200 or Jack10 lite, T39? Don't want to be left wishing I had gone bigger

Are you looking to run tops on one side and the T39 on the other? If so, I'd go with the 2502. I run my T39s off the 1502 bridged. But, that won't fly if you are trying to do it all on one amp.
If I was closer to winding down, I could sell you one of my spare 2500s that just sit in a rack waiting to get used....fortunately, I haven't had to.
Had the sound guy from a local venue call me asking if he could borrow one of 'em because the power button on his 2500 went in and disappeared. I had him bring it to me when he was coming to pick up mine.....was able to fix it on the spot, so the spares stayed in the trailer..

Great!
The one that I fixed the button on was back on my bench this week. The bottom end disappeared from the system at that venue. Ran a 100hz signal through it and it hit 98 volts.....nothing wrong with the amp. Finally chased it back down to the 15 year old Driverack....it would no longer hold the settings for the "setup". It was reverting to the factory setting of two tops and no sub. Fortunately, I had a spare so we installed it yesterday and redid the crossover and EQ....the crossover settings were severaly screwed up. Now, the venue needs to buy a new Driverack.
Satisfying though, to get something up and running.....

Wouldn't be something like an RTC battery that final gave up the ghost after 15 years?

If it reset to factory default the unit is still alive.

I did some research and found that there is no battery in these. An IC chip holds the settings.....just not all of 'em anymore. It had a good long life. It was on and working at least 5 days a week for years, so they go their money's worth.

That's what's weird. I only went back to default on the Setup items....the EQ, crossover, etc retained the settings. Might be different chips that held different things. I did try a hard reset, but the same thing happened when powered off.
