Titan 39 higher crossover point possible to match to a mid-horn?

Hi, Im hoping this question isnt too dumb. Im planning to build some T39s this year. I have some J2482 BL 4" phenolic horn drivers on big UK built horns. These can be crossed over fairly low, around 6-700hz (possibly lower). I was wondering if I could conceivably equalize the rising 100-600hz from the Titan down and cross over at that point? Might there be any sense in this or do they not go up that high or it just wouldnt sound right?

In my experience with the Tubas the mid-bass is very loud.

As I said its just an idea. Perhaps the amount of eq needed would be too severe?

The other option is obviously a mid bass speaker handling 100-700hz

Thanks for any advice
All the best, Nick

If you go higher than 200 Hz you may get response issues, over 300 Hz and you will get response issues. The JBL 2482 is capable of going to 300 Hz on the right horn, like the JBL 2366. I'd say that's what you should be looking at.

Thank you Bill. I will do some listening tests and see how they do. The horns are quite big. They seem fairly well regarded. Its called a Vitavox.

Exactly like these.

Before doing listening tests you need to do a low level SPL testing of those horns to see how low they'll go.
