Coaxial in horn curiosity

Saw this driver and wondered, what happens with a coax hornloaded? Out of curiosity and to understand more of the concept. My guess would be that it perhaps could extend the range of the LF- section a little bit, or it just doesnt because the horn is not suited for frequencies over...?

If so, is it due cancellations, beaming, phase issues or..?
Having no thoughts it would be better, not building it. just curious what happens in a dr200 for example. Where we dont need to lower the crossover point anyways, i get it.

It depends on the horn. Our straight horns have phase plugs that are configured to get the best result from the woofer, which would block the whizzer cone or tweeter radiation. A whizzer cone may work OK in a DR, but never having tried one I can't say.
