Simplexx 10 - bass guitar

I have a spare 2510 that has been gathering dust for quite some time now. I'm contemplating a Simplexx 10 with this driver, for use with bass guitar. If I am not mistaking, the BGH25 tweeter is recommended for use with bass guitar. It seems the BGH25 is currently hard to find in Europe. If at all available it tends to be rather expensive. Add the parts for crossovers to the bill of materials. Now I also happen to have some spare rectangular piezo's. Three or four 1016's cut & glued length-wise look like they would fit. I even have such a straight array readily available (my Omni 10.5's got upgraded to center mounted cross firing arrays). The 2510 driver would have to be offset just a tad more to one side to leave enough room for the pizzer array near the other side. For this approach I have just about everything other than paint in stock already. If I were to go the BGH25 route, I'd have to source one. And build crossovers.

So the Frankencab plan would be:
- piezo array instead of BGH25
- 2510 about 1" more off to one side

What say you? Crazy idea and sheer stupidity? Or would this be feasible and would it work?

I'd use them. You need to use the appropriate crossover from one of the other projects.

Thank you, that should work out fine then.

I have the original Simplexx plans from 2013. I assume there have been no significant changes in the dimensions and woodwork? I think there have been updates mainly wrt different drivers for different purposes (e.g. the BGH25-8 for bass guitar use, is not in my version).

The piezo's and their crossover will be made according to details from OT12, Jack, DR's.

The wood work is unchanged.

Frankencabs are great fun man.. could you stretch yourself to J10 or J10 Lite though?

I can do that, neither would be too difficult. But then again the J10 is significantly larger than S10. And I already own some O10.5's (somewhat like predecessor to the J10). The smaller size and light weight of the S10 are appealing. And there is curiosity.
