I am building the XF 210 and need to add 3/4" to the depth to line up with the depth of the matching head unit my son and I built, which will sit on top. I assume the added depth will have no negative sonic consequences but hope to get some confirmation. We are installing a pair of Eminence Ragin Canjuns.

If it's going to be open-back....I see no problem. If it's closed-back.....I still don't think it's an issue. I wouldn't worry about it. Considering that every speaker that you could put in there is going to react differently, I don't think that small amount will matter at all.

This suggestion does not connect firmly to the issue of cabinet depth but if you are building this open-back, let me suggest that you make more than one top back board in different heights. I have my speaker jack set into the back of the top board which makes it a little less easy of a swap but if you're going through all the cutting and covering process anyway there's no better time to give yourself this simple voicing option.

The design was made large enough to fit the drivers inside. You can go larger without affecting anything.
