TLAH or SLA ?

Hola Folks,
So.... I'm back again to seek advice on building a system for my grow room.

I previously built a jack 210 for a friend of mine as a bass cab. That thing still freakin rocks! I had it back over the summer to freshen it up with a new coat of duratex and some dent repair.
I've been deciding between the TLAH or SLA and building the recommended sub to go with either.
My room is 13' x 14' and I spend a lot of time in there so I need some awesome sounding tunes. The jbl partybox just isn't cutting it anymore. I wanna do a permanent install.
My question is after reading about both on the main site. Does the SLA project a decent soundstage like the TLAH? Reading on how big the imaging and stage is on the TLAH compared to the polk R600 is what is selling me on the TLAH but I'm concerned that my room is too small for it. Any advice is much appreciated folks.
I did already buy the TLAH Pro plan for a permanent install in my game room(22'x20') so I want to build everything all at once.
Cheers,
Sam

SLA is best for smaller rooms where listening distances are less than ten feet, or where WAF won't let you get away with TLAH.

Hola Bill,
Ok... So is it cool to build the 28" SLA for my room size? 13' x 14'
What sub do you recommend with the 28" version?

Just wondering if it'll be too much and should build one of the smaller versions.

How many coats of paint do you need to peel off the walls?

It's not about enough or too much, that's why amps have volume knobs. The taller the array the better the output pattern, but at close distances a better output pattern isn't as useful as with longer distances. The sub you choose on how low you want to go, but a pair of smaller subs is better than one larger sub.

Hola again Bill,
Ok , so I settled on building two auto tubas to go with the SLA 28 inch speakers. I want to run this setup off of one amp(hopefully that'll work). I've had this amp in a closet for the last 15 years. Crown K2. What impedance would that be per channel to run one autotuba with an SLA on each channel? Or do you recommend getting a second amp and keeping things separate?

The AutoTuba is intended for use in a car, where cabin gain extends the low end response. It won't work well in a room.
You can't run a sub and main on the same amp channel. You could use the Crown as a sub amp driven by the sub output of a receiver.

It's not a super apparent option, but hidden in the lineup of plans is the Small Table Tuba:
That's probably the one you want.

Thanks again Bill. Only went with the auto tuba because it's on your list of suggested subs on the SLA page. Lol.
Appreciate the info @seth. I'll look into the table tuba option.

Guys have been known to put SLA in their rides. When I was touring I had a pair of ten inch 2-ways in my van. They probably would have been SLAs but I hadn't gotten around to inventing them yet.
