Coupling on a budget, omnitop15

Hi!
Built two OmniTops 15, planning on building two more in the future for coupling. Now the budget isnt enough for a new tweeter section. Is it worth to couple 2+2 with the Lf-section only?

Everything is active crossovered bi-amped.
I was thinking about having to change the hf-section to parallell to match the lf sensitivity but thinking again, i dont have to since the lf section will be 4 ohms so the sensitivity should match with two more lf cabs in parallell lowers it down to 4 ohms? (or is it +6db/extra cab, and -3db from halfing the wattage/lf-speaker in parallell?)

Or.. Would the most correct option be to use three amps and use two for the hf, 8 ohms/tweeter.

Sum is: 4 deltalite ii 2515 and 4 faitalpro hf107 cd horns 1.2 kHz crossover

I know i should have built the otop12 instead, then i would have had tweeters for 4 lighter boxes. 🙂

Since you have two horns per box, then I'd say yes - change 'em to parallel to get a 4 ohm load and adding another box with just the 15 should work nicely....just like having 2 boxes with one horn each. Just means that you'll need to run all 4 all the time to keep 'em balanced out. Unless you adjust the high end output everytime you go with just one a side.

And yeah.....you shoulda' built the OT12s.

True, and the reason was to get more low end when moving them for small temporary gigs, not using the titans. And for those gigs i'll have to use all four then if i change to parallell in the hf-section, didnt think of that...
But i think i remember you, or some one else said to use a mono-stack then, that should work if i dont want to carry cabs and reconnect, right?

Anyway, size is of no problem right now and The deltalites made them light enough:) i think the dr:s are a project before de Otop12s right now :)

Yep, that was me......I've used a monostack and it works fine if you position it in the right place. And you are correct, no need to change the wiring config or reduce the gain on the top section.
