Line array horns and THT+

Are line arrays and horns unconducive to each other *in the same cabinet*? Could something like the TLAH have the front of the enclosure extended (in a straight line, forward) to improve the bass response? The ungainliness of the size and shape would likely make this not favorable for frequent transport, so this is more of a hypothetical or home use idea. Would the sides of the distal flare(s) interfere with lateral dispersion of the high end? Could there be an intermediate length calculated and added, that would add *some* bottom end, while minimizing said high end lateral reflections?
Also, could the THT have one last flared section added on to both increase the dB of the bottom octave, as well as slightly lengthening the horn path, lowering said bottom end?
In before: "if these ideas would have worked, Bill would have added them to the plans."
Bill: are the peanut gallery's suggestions 100% irritating, or do they ever give you (constructive) food for thought?
