Truck tuba driver.

Hello to you all!

I got some 10" drivers laying dormant. Have had them for years but never gotten around using them. They are car subwoofer drivers.

When looking at the drivers ts parameters compared to the recomended ts parameters in the trt plans, i can see VAS is a bit high at 46,4 and FS low at 26,4.

QTS 0,33

250W RMS

Xmax- unknown (guessing 12-14mm)

Can someone please give their thoughts on using them in a trt or perhaps a TT? :D

Built 2x TT 16" wide with the recomended dayton 8" that i love. Now it's time for some car audio upgrading next.

Best regads!

Not knowing Xmax makes it a guess.

What's the driver, and how deep is it?

Good grief, even clicking specs tells us nothing more than what you put up earlier.

If it's more than 5" deep, it won't fit in a truck tuba.

Perhaps it's not ideal, but if it's less than 5" deep, the worst thing that could happen would be to blow the driver (and you're prepared to allow for that)...

For the ?table tuba when you say TT, I would stick to a recommended driver...

I couldn't find the depth. From what i can remember they aren't that deep. I already cut the wood for the trt :chainsaw: Making the panels 9" so mounting depth should not be an issue.

Also got the dayton um 10-22 on hand, but it seems a bit like overkill for a trt?

I wonder what characteristics fs and vas affects i a horn. Drivers has gotten more expensive these days. Especially when importing to Norway. Thanks for yor swift reply, Grant.

By the way, any thoughts on using one of my TT's in the car?

Music doesn't go low enough to justify a TT, especially when cabin gain is taken into account.

Truck Tuba has the driver on the "side" of the cab. Increasing cab width also increases allowable driver mounting depth.

Ok. I understand. But other than the unnecessary extention of the TT, it should be ok? I have dsp as well.

Wath about the GAZ drivers? Just discard them?

Once you go BFM or (horn loaded) you dont go back.

Wath would be the downsides of using them in a trt or perhaps a TT?

Thanks for replying guyes :) - Just trying to understand this and save som money potentially.

Using a Table Tuba in a car would waste space going lower than you have any use for. It's like driving a two ton pickup when you never haul anything more than two bags of groceries. But there's many who do just that.
As for those drivers, I can't recommend anything that doesn't have full specs. Since you already have them I see no reason not to try them.
