J210 Lite Build

#1 Post by Clef's of Bass »

I wanted to share some progress pics with you guys.

Don't really have time to photograph, document and post each step of this process but wanted to share up to this point.

Sourcing the BB this year wasn't cheap. But luckily I live close to a Lumber supply company and they have plenty.

Have a fresh set of Delta Lite 2510's waiting for this beast! :hyper:

Thanks!

Its been a fun build so far. The glue ups were a little stressful. First time for me using ratchet straps as a clamping method  wan't pretty but it worked.

Thanks,

Yes, found them on Amazon, then sliced em half. I thought they would finish a little better than the foam.

Dear Mr. Clef's of Bass,

I writing this letter to you to discuss an issue I have with how well crafted your cabs are.

If you would kindly dial it down a little bit, I'd appreciate it. You're making the rest of us look bad.

Warmest regards,
Seth

Some high praise from some seasoned builders here.

Thanks, I'm taking my time with this build to minimize mistakes. And maybe too much time? The BB was too expensive :wall: . Plus, I wasn't 100 percent positive that I could pull off the sheath glue ups.

One thing I did to keep it clean was for the smaller horn sheaths. My concern was smearing all of the PL from the sides onto the larger sheath in all of the wrong places so I only glued the the leading edge, trailing edge and the throat sheath brace supports for the clamp up. Once the PL dried/ cured, I went back taped off the the sides and squeezed the PL in the sides.

After all that, I noticed that the PL was appeared a little porous in a few spots so I went back over all of all of the sheath's PL joints with bondo just to make sure they're air tight. Rasps and files made quick work of the bondo 8).

So far this thing is a beast. I sat on it just to test the strength and its solid.

After Its done I'll attempt to weigh it on bathroom scale.
