Need Amp Help

#1 Post by SnakeMan »

Hello.

I am setting out to build a pair of T60s with the single Lab15 (6 ohm) in each, as well as two Omnitop 12s with the Delta-12LFA (8ohm). I have a friend with a pair of amps for sale: A QSC PLX3402 (for the subs) and a Green Audio GAD1200 for the tops with 1200Watts. Wondering how I should set the amps, whether I should use these or purchase something new (maybe the crown xti series). I'm really at a loss here. He's selling the two amps for 600 canadian, which is a pretty good deal, even with no DSP or Active crossover capability (maybe a miniDSP to ride along).

Am Noob. Thanks for everything.

The QSC3402 is great for subs. I can't find anything on the GAD1200....never heard of it and can't find anything when I search.

Bottom line - get a driverack for DSP. You have to have good limiting, crossover, and EQ. Used PA, PA+, PX series are found easily and cheap. Rack it up with your amps and know that everything will always work.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

49 pounds!

I have 4 amps in my rack that don't total that much weight.

Pfft it's a lightweight.

But if it is the amp, it would be fine for tops/mains...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...
