Sealing piezos

The last time I dealt with piezos was on a DR before the woofer chamber was sealed off from the tweeters, so the tweeters needed to be sealed. I realize that with the jack they don't need to be sealed around the horn...but do they need to be sealed around the "barrel" where the piezo element lives (where I put the yellow line)? I think I did this on my DR....but it's been so long I can't remember.
I am thinking that I will stagger tweeters so that I don't need to cut the barrel screws. My small table saw blade does not extend high enough to cut them with my tweeter jig on top of my panel jig. Rather than grind them or build a new jig, staggering seems like an easy option. So there's no compelling need to put glue around the barrel unless the piezo element needs to be better sealed in its chamber.
