Melded tweeter array size

#1 Post by fender3x »

I am about to start work on a couple of J12L cabs. I plan to use them for bass mostly, but also light PA, so I was going to put in full sized tweeter arrays. When I google pics of Jack 12s I see mostly 8 element wide dispersion arrays, but the plans call for 16. Is there something I am missing? I got my plans a long time ago (2015). Are people still building 16 element arrays?

My plan is to have the full array for PA, but have a switch to turn the tweets mostly off or all the way off for when they are bass cabs.

Sixteen is the correct number, for minimum spacing of the individual units. There's no need to turn them off with electric bass, that's why amps have tone controls. :hyper:
