Handle options

#1 Post by J_Dunavin »

Planning on building two 18" (Maybe 20" not sure it would matter for this request) wide T39s and am looking for handle options.
I really like these guys:

I am thinking about mounting them on the sides, however they would protrude into the driver chamber. The spec says it's 2 3/8 deep.
Other than the added risk of a potential leak spot, would they interfere with driver chamber volume?

It's just my personal (limited) experience that handles cut into the native material feel better in the hand and are more robust than store bought solutions.

I've been wanting to experiment a little with the 4 lobe style hand holes that I've been seeing around. Or maybe four leaf clover?.. Not sure what to call it. The one's that look like this:

I also like that they can be situated in a way that positively locates stacked cabs together. Just thought I'd throw it out there for consideration.
Build in process - 2 WH6, one Alpha 6a loaded, one PRV Audio 6MB250-NDY loaded

Two 2x6 shorty SLA Pro's
One T39, 16", 3012LF loaded
Tall AutoTuba, 20" wide, 2x 8" MCM 55-2421
TruckTuba, 8½" wide, 2x 8" MCM 55-2421

They are good for a one person lift. In bigger cabs where one person is on each side - you have to turn you hand backwards....so standard handles are better in that situation.

Seth,
The ones you have pictured are actually called out in the T39 plans, but only for the cabs wide enough that require driver chamber reducers. Hence the handles are not in the driver chamber any more.
Those do look nice, just not sure i would incorporate them .
