dr250 on a stand

#1 Post by joblow88 »

I was thinking to weld stand bracket at the right angle to punt under a pair of dr250 with a on board amp so i could have a easy to carry and deploy set up with tripod. will the lost of room mess up the design?? it would no be bigger than 2'' diameter by 2'' high.

Are you asking about installing a top hat?
If so, ya you’ll be fine it won’t hurt anything.
Only advice is to mount it center of gravity, which is not the center of the box. The DRs are a little aft heavy.
Edit:
Isn’t that in the plans?

8 - DR200

9 - T24

No problem!
Only other advice is to get a heavy duty stand. I had /have some cheaper stands from Parts express, which work great, but my DR250s made it a little top heavy.
Always felt like it could tip over easy if someone bumped into them.

Yeah, I'd do a pair of DR200 but a pair of DR250 is top heavy. A scaffold is better.
