Yup,
I chose the right cab to build for a bass rig. That is what my eyes are telling me. As I sand and scrape glue off this box, I thump it around to hear what tone it has. It has a little bark to it already. The tubas I built, when they were all done, but one side, had a bunch of different tones as you knocked on the baffle and all the other radiating parts. That is good information, I have no idea how to apply, use, or adjust it. It is just impressive, the musical~ness of the structure. I am listening to this with my eyes of course, I should paint it with Duratex and be done. I can help myself, I have the time, so I sand. Way too nice for me now, I will have to become a better bass player. I chose this because there are some keyboard bass lines, with a bunch of mid info, I wanted to explore, this rig will handle all the input coming in.
A few build notes. That mid horn, make sure you keep nails away/out of the parts you have to trim. Use two spacer jigs for making that first step on the horn, really hard to keep them parallel with just one, and glue and expanded metal grill. Superior mess. I might agree with the 4 over all degree of build difficulty. maybe a 5, moments of 6. So far I love this thing, can't wait to hear it.
These pics loaded sideways. if you click 'em they right themselves.
