Handle Suggestions for XF 212 Cab

#1 Post by AxeMan7 »

With the angled baffles I am a bit concerned about any decent sized recessed handles for this build. A top handle is an issue for a relatively heavy cabinet, especially if I decide to use 1x poplar.

What have most used, if any, for side handles on the XF 212? Has anyone experienced any rattle/vibration of the flush mounted handles that look like the recessed spring loaded ones?

I've never built an XF, but my son and I used something similar to this on a box about 18x24x36"

no rattles, and lots of screw holes to anchor.

I think that is too big for my cab. It might intrude into the area where the baffles are glued.

Really looking for flush mount I think.

There's plenty of room for one of those on each side, just don't try to put them too high.

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up buying the recessed Penn-Elcon spring loaded handles and routing the side panels 3/8" deep so as to not enter the inside of the cab.

I f I knew how to post photos I would show the progress.

Posting photos is pretty easy actually.
Just resize them on your phone, and when you go to the full editor there is an option to attach files.
