I am in the process of building an XF 212 and have the following speakers currently in my inventory.
2x 12" Fender Eminence 8 ohm 50W
1x 12" Celesion Greenback 16 ohm 25W
1x 12" Celesion Relic 30 16 ohm 60W
I also have 4x 10" Celesion G10D-25 8 ohm 25W (I would just cut the baffles on the XF 212 to 10" diameter)
The issue with the double 8 ohm speakers is that in parallel I get a 4 ohm cab, and in series I get a 16 ohm cab. I really want to stay at 8 ohms in case
I am stuck using an 8 ohm only output amp at any time.
The question is, can the 2 Celesions (though different wattage, both 16 ohm) be used in parallel to achieve my 8 ohm cab?
The speakers will never be driven with more than a 25W tube amp.
Looking for suggestions. Thx.

Re: Trying to Decide What Speakers to Use
There's no real problem running the two 16 ohm speakers. While it's not suggested to mix speakers, many guitar players do. The different wattage ratings don't mean anything in this case. The 25 watt will probably break up quicker than the 60 watt. Hey, it's a guitar cab.....give it a try - can't hurt a thing.

Sorry, I got a bit carried away there. Normal service will now resume.
