XF210 vs XF212

#1 Post by AxeMan7 »

Is there any reason I can’t use the XF212 plans for 10” speakers and just cut the speaker opening smaller to accommodate the 10” vs 12” speaker?

I don’t have the plans in hand yet, but I can’t see that being a problem unless you say otherwise.

Thanks

Out of curiosity, what benefit would that give you?

I can't think of any problem with that, but it does beg the question.....why? It just makes the cab bigger and heavier.

Thanks.

Is there a place on the forum or website where I can see the overall dimensions for each before I order the plans?

The important dimensions for putting a head on top are:

XF210 - 24" wide x 8 1/4" deep
XF212 - 28" wide x 9" deep

Thanks.

They make some good smokers out your way. Had one years ago. Wish I kept it.

Ha! Hadn't thought about NB Smoker in years. I knew the guy that owned it. He just died last year. Also had a renter that worked there.

You from the area? If so, you are welcome to come check out my XF210.

Sorry to hear about that. Was that the owner before W.C. Bradley bought it? I have some friends in San Antonio, and lived in Houston some time back. Haven't been that way in quite a while. Now in Ohio.

It was Ron Snider. He had the playground equipment company too. Went on to own a bunch of real estate here and a venue that I mixed in often. Even mixed the memorial they had there for him.
